"One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain." Bob Marley

For too long I have let this slide, something I once took great joy in... I did what I always seem to do and let other, often less enjoyable things, get in my way.  This morning, however, I woke up with an overwhelming urge to start sharing the music I love with you all again...

So here we are and I have to choose from the incredible plethora of music that I have been listening to over the last three years!  And I have chosen to share a song that introduced me to a new artist.  Perhaps you will have the same reaction I did or perhaps you will dislike but that is one of the great things about music, there is something for everyone and if you don't like this artist then the next one might suit you better!  The artist I am going to share today is Rayland Baxter and the song that caught me and held me so tightly is Yellow Eyes.  No matter how many times I listen to this song it does not seem to wear on me. From the first hit of the electric guitar I was lost.  His vocal range is not extraordinary, his tone is slightly nasal, a little more country than I usually enjoy.  There is, however, something in his inflection, in his lyrics and the musical arrangement... He has a groove and a laid back style, he makes me want to move but also lie completely and utterly still so that I can hear every minute moment of the song.  Perhaps it's just me, but I love this song and I'm thoroughly enjoying discovering his other creations!  Hope you do too.
